The scene where the guy is stalking his fellow co-workers through the lab was really well done. I actually think Legacy is better than Jason Bourne though. Ultimately I think Ultimatum was a decent ending to the trilogy but the first two films are just way more enjoyable for me.Īs for the Renner film, they should have just done a recast at that point and made it into more of a "Bond" franchise than going off on a spin-off. I also disliked the retcon that tried to make Nicky into his ex-girlfriend in Ultimatum. If they make a sixth one are we going to find out Treadstone killed his brother in high school to make him want to join the military? Are we going to find out his mother was a Treadstone agent who manufactured his birth by secretly putting a hole in his father's condoms? It was getting too far down the rabbit hole. Also trying to make even more of his life into a conspiracy (here the idea that his father's assassination led to his joining Treadstone) was taking it too far. Jason Bourne was disappointing but enjoyable, it just didn't seem to add anything to the thematic arc of the character though as he seemed to have regressed after Ultimatum as opposed to "escaping" the "life" he had just regressed into a street fighter who still hadn't found his place in the world or his "true self" separate from Bourne or Webb. Also has the unforgivable crime of not having a single good action scene. I don't even remember what Bourne was mad about in that.

Jason Bourne: A movie so boring and lifeless that if you put a gun to my head I could not tell you anything that happened in it that wasn't in the trailers that played a billion times. Legacy: Don't hate this one but there's a giant "who cares about this guy?" question hanging over it that the film never bothers to answer. Beautifully paced and the entire Tangier sequence just fucking rips. Feels like they just tried to recreate the magic of Supremacy but didn't quite get there. Doesn't make a lot of sense and you can tell it was written on the fly. Ultimatum: The overrated one from the original trilogy, imo. Shaky cam aside, has the tone and plotting for what I want out of these kinds of movies down pat. Supremacy: My vote for the best of the films.

Has the most coherent action of the bunch.

The best part, though, is that you can watch it free on YouTube (unofficially). It follows much of the same beats as the 2002 film, with Jason Bourne (played by Richard Chamberlain) awakening and not remembering who he is while displaying skills most normal people don't know. If you want to see absolutely everything Bourne-related, then you need to check out this made-for-TV movie that aired on ABC in two parts in 1988. WHAT IS THE SEQUENCE OF JASON BOURNE MOVIES SERIES
To help you catch-up on Bourne or experience the franchise for the first time, we recommend watching the Bourne films in order of release date, as the series is chronological. There are reports about a sixth Bourne film underway, too. There’s also a TV show, Treadstone, which rounds out the Jason Bourne Universe by delving into the background of the CIA program that trained assassins like Bourne. The movies primarily focus on Damon as Bourne, a CIA-controlled assassin who loses his memory and begins a journey to discover his identity, ultimately turning him against his handlers at the CIA. (Pocket-lint) - The Jason Bourne films brought the world of spycraft and CIA-ordered assassinations into the new millennium - while also turning Matt Damon into a full-blown Hollywood action star.
